ITALIAN restaurant chain Prezzo is gearing up to open its latest branch at White River Place shopping centre in St Austell on Tuesday, April 29.
The development has cost £550,000 and is expected to create 20 local jobs, company bosses have said.
The restaurant will be open between 12 noon and 11pm and has seating for 136 diners - 108 in the eatery itself and a further 28 at the front.
Prezzo chief executive Jonathan Kaye said: "I am confident that the restaurant will prove popular and be a great addition to the shopping centre and to St Austell's restaurant scene."
Mike Wimble, of shopping centre owners Ellandi, said: "This exciting new letting brings another major national chain into St Austell and is a vote of confidence in White River Place shopping centre and in the town centre itself.
"It is a direct result of the strategy set out by Ellandi when we purchased White River Place, which was to help drive the development of a broader food and leisure offer in the town centre. Another aim is to encourage a more vibrant evening economy in St Austell."
The restaurant will add to the food and leisure offering already established at the shopping centre, which includes Costa Coffee, Eden Project Cafe, Frankie & Benny's restaurant and the White River Place Cinema.
