Open in New Hyde Park: Bramasole Italian Restaurant

Ditulis oleh: -

Bramasole Italian Restaurant has taken over the New Hyde Park space that last housed Vintage and, before that, Testaccio at the Gardens. Chef-owner Domingo Rodriguez, who cooked at Cara Mia Due in Seaford, said he named the dining spot for the house in the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun." Its interior is painted a sunny yellow and warmed by a fieldstone fireplace.

Instead of authentically Tuscan food, though, Rodriguez offers a more general Italian menu. Choices on the dinner menu include baked clams ($11), seafood salad ($16), fettuccine nero, or black fettuccine with shrimp in spicy marinara ($25), chicken saltimbocca ($22) and salmon piccata ($21).

Next week, Rodriguez said, he is launching a Tuesday two-course pasta dinner at $13. It consists of a salad (Caesar, mesclun or garden) and a choice among seven pastas, such as house-made spinach gnocchi and cavatelli Bolognese. Also, every Tuesday to Thursday, from noon to 5 p.m., a $14 three-course prix-fixe includes a choice of salad, followed by a main course such as flounder oreganata, chicken parmigiana or linguine with mussels. It concludes with cannoli and coffee.

Bramasole is at 2232 Jericho Tpke., New Hyde Park, 516-216-5710, bramasolerestaurant.com.
