British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is to open an Italian restaurant in the Swedish capital Stockholm, he has announced.
In revealing the news about the restaurant, which will be in central Stureplan area, he said it would be "epic".
The eatery, already being dubbed "Jamie's Italian", will be housed in the lobby of the upmarket Scandic Anglais hotel. Oliver said he was extremely excited about opening his first Sweden-based restaurant and that he felt it was going to be "epic".
Oliver will use organic and local food in the new restaurant, something he has gained a reputation for doing over the years. He shot to stardom in the UK and beyond through his TV cooking shows and then with his various cookbooks, which focus on healthy eating.
He is also well known for campaigning to have healthier food introduced in British schools, something that he successfully managed to achieve through making the public aware of how unhealthy British schoolchildren's diets were and by pressurising the government into doing something about it.
Oliver owns restaurants all over the world, including the UK, Australia, Singapore, Turkey and Russia. The Stockholm one is due to open in autumn and will have a capacity for 200 diners.
