JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA - Jeddah's renowned hotel, Rosewood Corniche, is wrapping up preparations for one of the most exciting culinary festivals in the city, the Italian Food Festival, taking place from 15 to 30 January 2014 at the hotel's celebrated restaurant, Habsburg.Now in its third edition, the Italian Food Festival will feature the most authentic Italian blends, offering the hotel guests a true cultural experience from the one of the richest and most famous food regions in Italy, Emilia Romagna.
This year's edition will feature Chef Francesca Simoni, a talented Italian culinary expert flying from Bologna, Italy, in order to oversee the operations at Habsburg kitchen during the festival days, in coordination with Executive Chef Maurizio, bringing the authentic flavours of Emelia Romagna to the Bride of the Red Sea."Words cannot express my excitement and pride of being the first female Italian Chef taking part in a leading festivity in Jeddah, said Simoni. This is my first experience in the Middle East, and I am glad it will start from the heart of the Arabian Peninsula."With a professional and skilled team such as Habsburg's, I am sure this year's edition will be another success to add to the festival's history. We have prepared a diverse and rich menu for our guests, and I cannot wait to receive all of them at Habsburg" added Simoni.Chef Francesca is currently working for one of the most respected and prominent Italian restaurants, Amerigo 1934 Trattoria, that has recently won the prestigious Gambero Rosso Award for the best restaurant in Italy for the year of 2013.Amegrio 1934 Trattoria has supplied Habsburg team with the ingredients needed for the Italian Food Festival menu, from extra virgin olive oil to authentic cheese selections and row pasta varieties.Guests of the Italian Food Festival can expect a variety of original Italian cuisine from Amelia Romagna including the authentic homemade pasta, fresh sea food Fritto Misto, as well as a spectacular live cooking station of the delicious Risotto sorts.Hans-Peter Leitzke, Managing Director at Rosewood Corniche said: "The idea behind the Italian Food Festival is to offer Rosewood Corniche guests a unique and true Italian experience in the heart of the Kingdom."We wanted to offer something new to our guests while remaining reliable to the Italian traditional gastronomy.
